A catalogue of artwork by David Allan Peters
Curated by Andi Campognone
Essay by Shana Nys Dambrot
A lot is happening in the Effusive Paintings of Favid Allan Peters -- and a lot more than that has happened in them already. In many of these chromatically activated compositions, it's been happening for years. Applying paint to wood panels using every tool but a brush, Peters buils up an incomprehensible number of skin-think layers of bright acrylic pigment in a geological accumulation akin to sedimentary drifts, stalagmite deposits, or the rings of a growing tree.
